6. He's destroying life by TAKING taxpayer money
Damn it, he needs to stop making these statements (or whoever's writing them) before they're thought out. He's taking the middle class taxes and destroying (at least) life's small pleasures, like freedom of choice: our bodies, religion, control over our own lives, etc.

STOP THE INSANITY!!!!!!

7. I wonder if he has any sense of the irony of that statement?
Is he simply that stupid, or does he get a kick out of it? He has always been vindictive and utterly callous and all those other things. But how stupid is he, really? I do wonder.

This is a prize-winner in the Hypocrisy Hall of Fame, that's for sure.

31. Exactly. Which is why we need to make a clearly documented list of all
the blatant ways he has betrayed life on the mosts basic level, then get it to them.

They need to be shown that he is lying. The fundie leaders are probably cynical enough to know and follow Bush from expediency, but their followers have been lied to and need to be shown the truth.

It's fascinating in a morbid way. Seeing history unfold before us in this sorry tale. Many have wondered how things got so out of hand in the cases of those who preceded us down this same path.

16. So he's not going to use that money appropriated for war in Iraq?
And he's not going to ask for money for weapons systems?

Oh, I get it: he's only against destroying the life of stem cells. But wait, all those people he's caused to be killed in Iraq -- they all had stem cells at one time or another.

21. Thank you Mr President
I am a diabetic. Stem cell research might save my life -- the absence of stem cell research derived therapies will shorten my life - which such great accompaniments as limb neuropathy (started already) and macular degeneration (started already) and kidney failure (started already).

I am not an Evangelical or a Roman Catholic. I am so glad that by "establishing" fundamentalist religion as the "law of the land" you are "prohibiting" the free exercise of my religion (which permits stem cell research).

I don't know if Alberto Gonzales knows this -- but OUR CONSTITUTION provides

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an
establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

And over riding the will of the People and of the Congress to carry out a Theocratic agenda is a "material breach" of the "Contract between" the People and the Government <footnote 1>.

39. Eisenhower said...
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. The world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children." -- Dwight D. Eisenhower
