If I was nominated by a president
and the Senate was in this much turmoil, I would withdraw my name for consideration. I would not want the Constitution destroyed on my behalf. If these judges were really worth their salt, that is what they would do. But I guess these judges really don't care about the Constitution that they took an oath to protect. America will be the dictatorship that shrubby wants after all. Rove said that 2004 was his last presidential campaign. Is that because it WAS the last presidential campaign?

1. but that's exactly why shrub wants them in. because they'll ignore it.
judges that abide by the constitution are a dime a dozen, you can find 'em under any rock. but judges believe that the republican party has more authority than the constitution, that's harder to find and when you've got one of those, you pull out all the stops to get them a key lifetime appointment....

2. If the Democrats were in control, and the repubs were
blocking your nominees, would you just roll over and let them have their way? If you held strong beliefs and you thought were doing the correct thing, you would just fall on you sword? I don't think so.

This is raw politics. Andrew Jackson said "To the victor goes the spoils."

We need to start winning again.

3. I wouldn't blame the judges under consideration all THAT much...
I would think that they are being told IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS by the RW Spin Machine that this is the MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT THEY HAVE EVER DONE...that they cannot be allowed to cave...that they OWE IT to the American People, blahblahblah...

And remember that these nominees are, for the most part, RW fuckwads...

I see your point however, and I would hope that were I ever in a similar situation (not friggin' likely), I would withdraw my name from consideration...
