Name for the current war on terror, Iraq, and Afghanistan. WW-III?
Edited on Thu May-19-05 01:38 PM by gordianot
The Great War 1914-1918 later became World War I. We had World War II which was a good description. Then there were the police actions in Korea and Vietnam. Of course the was the Gulf War and some early descriptions of the current war being Gulf War II. Gulf War II does not describe the current situation in that it encompasses much more than Gulf.

I think we need a point of reference that describes all that our current situation involves:

War on Terror
War in Afghanistan
War in Iraq
War on Al Quida
Destruction of American Democracy
Jihad
Crusade
Neo-Con
Israeli Palestinian conflict

Is this World War III? Maybe if it had a name we could put an end to it or motivate people to see how this is all connected.

Please note I am thinking in terms of "end" not necessarily win.

7. The Afghanistan war was justified. The Iraq one - a travesty the way
they went about it. Good to see Saddam gone. Bad they used it to create more Kook-Aid and planned it negligently. 100,000 people did not need to die. The insurgency was not necessary.

8. There may have been some justification in Afghanistan.
Not sure though what the Bush role was in 9/11. Look what they have done managed to insult the Muslims by flushing the "Koran".
