my boss thinks clinton PERSONALLY killed many people
my coworker "likes" bush and then tells me to "shut up" when i run down the reasons why he is a piece of shit.

so many other examples: and they all get that glossed over look when they salivate about bush.

and they are mostly nice people, probably not very stupid.

i think that in this world where advertising and marketing has largely replaced actual thought, it is too easy for people to be swayed by an administration that takes marketing and spin as its primary endeavor.

but its sad, these people don't even know they've been hoodwinked and they are content with the way things are and they don't even know why: they just like bush.

where am i?

4. Sure.
He was a regular Jack the Ripper who spend years with either Arkansas state troopers and the Secret Service following him around, cleaning up the evidence, protecting him from prosecution.

If your boss believes this, he is very stupid.

and this person oversees several multi-million dollar accounts, so i know she can't be a complete idiot.

i'm just astounded at the disconnect i feel from them and see when these people start talking about politics.

11. Ask her to explain to you how he managed to
commit multiple murders when he had Arkansas state troopers trailing his steps every time he left the governor's mansion and the Secret Service every time he left the White House? Does she really think anyone could successfully commit murder even once under those conditions? (sigh)

I'm sorry I don't care what she manages, she's not very smart.

18. i'm not saying she is a genius
and i countered her imbecility along those lines: just going from the patent absurdity of her claims and basically telling her that she heard this from limbo.

i was astounded when she said that she knows more about this than i do, because she knows "politicians" and things many people don't know about.

naturally, i was pissed, but i really didn't want to "go for the throat" with someone who has decision-making power over my employment.

i guess what really confuses me is that SO MANY of these bushbots are seemingly decent enough people on the surface, but it's like dealing with a pod person when you bring up the subject of politics.

they revere this man like god: almost like they think he is infallible--this is WHAT SCARES THE LIVING FUCK OUT OF ME.

23. it already has
but it doesn't have to do with politics: they aren't wearing it on their sleeves (my boss and coworker).

it WAS a hell of a lot different in texas when i was there. the workplace was SATURATED with bush, jesus, and war.

i had a boss there who ended almost every "joke" or answered questions with the punchline/answer: "because kerry is a fag."

and this was in the workplace.

prayer meetings.

laying on of hands for the lady with cancer. in the front office. by the reception desk.

so in illinois they don't usually bring it up (at least these two people). i'm almost sorry i broached the subject with them. i probably would never have understood where they were coming from politically.

i guess before i found out their political orientation, these two seemed like decent enough people. that's where i have a hard time reconciling their politics with them.

7. *Sigh*
*Sigh*

Clinton is damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't.

Now everyone is going after him because he didn't do enough to catch Bin Laden, but back in the '90's the Republicans would have his head for "wagging the dog" to distract everyone from Monica-gate.

I guess killing thousands of civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan with "precision guided weapons" in *not one, but* two illegal and unjust wars isn't too bad for them, huh?

9. RICHARD... MELLON... SCAIFE
I sometimes think the people on 'Clinton's Hit List' were murdered... but not by Clinton.

The deaths of these people were very convenient for Scaife and the RW'ers looking to blame Clinton for something.

Combine that with Steve Kangas, and I think somebody should look into it again.

17. Sure.
You obviously haven't been the victim of a homicide. Those who have see little humor in this. Are you aware of the fact that Bill Clinton performs abortions -- often in the fourth trimester on women who aren't even pregnant -- in China? Bill is a communist. Hillary is, too. She's killed more people than Bill.

31. I'm beginning to think
we need an official; list of the victims of the uncontrolled urges of the "Clintons" -- IF that's their real names. We know that Hillary had Nancy Keerigan's knee smacked so she couldn't win the Gold Metal. We know that Clinton is close friends with the bin Ladens .... wait, wrong president. But I think that we need to uncover the truth here.

Clinton personally invented oral sex. So we have that to thank him for.

But seriously. Your coworkers are high-functioning dumbasses. They need to stop watching Fox News and start taking their anti-psychotic meds. I mean, my ex-girlfriend thought Clinton was out to get her, too--literally--and she ended up where she belonged--in a mental hospital.

24. bush hates the US, maybe your coworkers do too...
2 million americans are in prison, run by the same type goofballs who ran the prison in iraq, and most are in jail for non violent offenses; millions of kids have no medical coverage, poverty is growing and good jobs are being exported; police raid a highschool with swat teams looking for non existent marijuana, a school principal forced prom girls to expose themselves by lift dresses etc in order to see who was wearing thongs, and sent home the guilty, 23 hischool football players ordered to take a lie detector test after denying they drank beer at weekend party, all are expelled but 3 who admitted it; a pastor ordered those members of the congregation who didn't support bush in '04 election to leave the church; a guy in north carolina was sentenced to 10 years in jail for having a hand-drawn picture of a 'child engaged in sex act'(?) in his notebook, a mentally ill terror suspect pleads guilty to everything he was charged with, another mentally ill person eagerly rushes off to his execution cuz he doesn't want to miss the simpsons.....

36. After some research into this...
... it comes back to FDR and the New Deal. Some of the things said about Eleanor Roosevelt in the `30s are identical to what's been said of Hillary Clinton in the last ten years. There were rumors spread in the `30s that Roosevelt must have done many illegal things to get to the governorship of New York and the Presidency, that he had cancer, that he had syphilis, but, most frequently, that he was insane.

Most of the Bush supporters today don't even know the roots of this--that the purported ills of all Democrats stem from this campaign by wealthy industrialists, through mechanisms such as the American Liberty League and American Action, Inc., to discredit Roosevelt, the New Deal and all Democrats--because of Roosevelt and the New Deal.

It's been going on for so long that such people don't know why they hate the Democratic Party--that part of the mythology has been forgotten. The neo-cons and the Bushies, however, have managed to whip up the emotions of it without the need for context. All it requires today is a rumor set loose in cyber-space. There's enough blind hatred around for it to take hold.
