My buddy just called me from her cell phone. She was leaving a grocery store and loading her groceries when she was approached by a crotchety old bastard that has apparently seen her anti-Bush bumper stickers.

He starts right in with "I like George Bush. He is a great man. He is a great president and he is a great leader!"

After wondering for a second what the hell would make a complete stranger get all in her face like that she responded, "He's a thug."

The old freeper got all exasperated and all he could say while storming off was, "Why do young people have to be SO HATEFUL these days?"

This coming from a guy that walks up to a total stranger and starts going off on her about her politics. Her response was damn tame by my standards. Hateful my ass!

These dick bags think that if we respond to their constant attacks that WE are the problem! I am SO SICK of that shit. These people are the same assholes that raise and abuse dogs then put them to sleep when they turn out to be biters.

It is a damn good thing for him that he didn't walk up and start in on me. Then he would have really found out about real "hateful" young people. Cuz, I sure do hate freepers regardless of their age!

I hear what you are saying, but for those of us stuck in a red-state (and I'm in a dark red section), its an almost daily occurrence. I don't have any bumper stickers on my car, but I will wear my "Think Blue" shirts around town on the weekends. Most don't catch the meaning, but some of them do and they make some snide comment about how I am dead wrong or even a "queer lover" or a "terrorist lover". The most disturbing incident that I had was when a woman came up to my wife and I a couple weeks ago (my wife is 8 months pregnant)and accused me of being a hypocrit because we are having a baby and if I was a real Democrat, I would kill it now. Thats the only incident I didn't enjoy.

There are a lot of moderates here and quite a few Democrats, but because of the social climate here, they remain quiet for the most part.

They don't expect whats going to come back to them. I simply pose questions based on solid facts about certain issues. I have only had one out of the many stay and speak with me, the others just walk off because they are getting embarrassed.

Where as I an 6'4" and weight over 200 lbs. I rarely get harassed. Sometimes freepers will yell something while driving by. Rarely do they just walk up to me (unless I am out putting up flyers in which I get yelled at, told to leave the country, spit on, etc.).
