Poll question: Are thread titles like: "DEMS WILL LOSE" appropriate for DU?
Edited on Wed May-18-05 04:46 PM by cestpaspossible
I certainly can understand why someone might be discouraged, I can relate to negative feelings, self-doubt, and self-questioning, and I surely see nothing wrong with someone posting their opinion on DU, even if that opinion is that will lose a particular fight, election, or even suffer a more overarching defeat.

But I just don't think that is an excuse for asserting an opinion that we will lose as if it were a fact, especially in a thread title. It even discourages discussion as I often will not post to a thread with an overly negative and discouraging title just because I don't want to kick it, even though I might otherwise wish to participate in the discussion.

To me these thread titles are like going into the lockerroom before the game and chanting "we are losers"..

What do you think?

1. Every minute people spend arguing about arguing...
...is a minute they haven't spend doing.

4. Let me get this straight.
I posted a poll, soliciting people's opinions. And your response to my call for discussion is to accuse me of being a 'zealot' and the 'thought police'.

Do you own a mirror?
