The Downing Street Memo is the last straw, the American media has lost beyond all credibility. In our particular case the media turned against us on Nov. 2,2000. That was the first real punch in the gut from the Bushco media. But our problems with the media go way beyond that, if you really think about it, the media hasn't been on our side since the days of Lincoln. From about 1870 on a majority of the media has been owned by the likes of Pulitzer, Peabody, Hearst, Murdoch, and finally global corporations. It is time America repeals the telecommunication act of 1996 and takes the media back for average Americans.
We the people are sick of the our watchdog protecting the rich, politicians, and corporations. Get out their and talk to people, the majority of Americans, despite their political leanings, agree that the corporate media has got to go.
Drastically limiting ownership laws is the best step to take, why can't one freaking politician come out and say that!?! Why isn't every democrat serving right now not screaming this at the top of their lungs!?!
I want a media that tells the truth, that does their job. End of story.
OK, rant ended.
So until that glorious day...
A toast, to a media by and for the people:toast:
