Such A Sad Day!!!
Today we laid to rest Pfc. Nicholas Messmer, a 20 year old from Gahanna, OH. He went and graduated with my son in 2003, from Gahanna Lincoln H.S.. The whole city had flags at half mast and the church was over flowing. It also made me as mad as hell to realize the men and women who are dying for a lie. I wish that I could push * face in the casket and to the loved ones left behind and say you did this you fucking bastard, but all I could do was cry.

Peace be with his family!

5. Two years ago my son graduated with a young man who was in Iraq
He lived but he is very messed up. I'm sorry. It's so shocking to see the death of a youth. But to feel it in one's soul is excruciating. My condolances.

8. So Terrible
I also live in Gahanna and my heart is breaking for his family. He was a just a boy starting his life. The news photo was obviously his high school graduation picture-- he looked so young and so happy.

May he rest in peace.

10. So sorry for your sons friend and his family!
I was upset by an article in my local paper today about a very smart HS friend of my daughter who was accepted to the Naval Academy and will be leaving for training in eight weeks. He said 911 inspired him to serve. If ONLY his silly Republican parents would have bothered to read up about this war maybe he would have made a different choice. he is a fantastic shooter and competes and apparently EVERY military branch went after him when he got a silver medal for his shooting capabilities a few years back. This kid scored 1380 on his SAT's. He claims he ultimately wants to serve with the Marines. All I can say about this is I hope he gets trained as an officer cause any sniper in Iraq has a target a mile wide on his back.

Out of 280 or so kids 240 were accepted to colleges, but only ONE is going into a military academy! I wish he had followed his FIRST dream and that was to become a cop. I understand support for your country. I really do. I have several ex-military family members and friends, but not THIS war, not THIS administration and not THIS military. I told my daughter to make sure she saves that article. She has been very close friends with this kid the past year. I hope my feeling is just overreaction. I am praying for this kid. I hope he makes it through this alright!

11. Every time I read one more story like this .....
..... I die a little too. What a waste. I was 10 years old with a childhood
friend when he learned his brother was killed in Vietnam. I can remember
everything and everybody in that room like yesterday.

Blessing, Prayers, and love to his spirt, family, and friends.

13. I'm so sorry for his family and friends. This weekend 2 soldiers who have
died locally were written up in the paper -- both had enlisted right out of high school. One died just 3 weeks after he got to Iraq. This is just sooooo wrong. *sigh*

hugs and peace.
