Help, I've looked but not very far. Is there a transcipt for Moyer's
speech up anywhere yet? I'm running out of time to print out and get to friends getting ready to head for Halliburton Shareholder Protest in Houston tomorrow. Thanks.

1. Here ya go.
I just received this email.

Dear ****** *******:

Yesterday, we asked you to listen to Bill Moyers' historic speech at the close of the National Conference for Media Reform in St. Louis. Many of you did. So many, in fact, that our Web server slowed to a crawl. Our apologies to those of you who couldn't download the speech.

The full transcript is available now at www.freepress.net/news/8120.

Take a few moments to read Bill Moyers' speech and then take action to save public broadcasting. More than 60,000 Free Press activists have already joined a call for the resignation of Corporation for Public Broadcasting Chairman Kenneth Tomlinson and the creation of town hall meetings nationwide to put the public back into public broadcasting.

Before we deliver their signed petitions to Tomlinson's desk, we need 60,000 more Americans to join the call. If you haven't taken action on this already, sign the petition at: www.freepress.net/action/pbs

Then ask more people to join the call for Tomlinson's resignation. Forward this e-mail to all your friends and colleagues and help protect our public broadcasting from partisan tampering.

With your help, we can turn the tide against corporate and government efforts to muzzle the quality journalism, independent viewpoints, and dissenting voices that sustain our democracy.

Act now!

Timothy Karr and the Free Press team
www.freepress.net

P.S. To learn more about building a public broadcasting system that deserves public support, read "A New Standard," the recent report from Free Press, Common Cause, Consumer Federation of America, Consumers Union, and Media Access Project at www.freepress.net/docs/pbs_report.pdf.

2. Here's the closest I've found
http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=05/05/16/1329245

They have a number of very long excerpts, but it looks like it's not the entire speech.

6. Thank you all ever so much for your quick response!
All my friends and yours traveling to Houston tonight thank you all as well. It will break the long driving time to be able to hear such a wonderful, inspirational speech. Keep your thoughts with them all, they are working for all of us.

And for those of you in the Houston area, don't miss the fun tomorrow, downtown Houston, shareholder meeting. For more info a good place to start would probably be http://houston.indymedia.org/ or
http://users2.ev1.net/~geosynch/hgac.html

Have fun all that can be there, be safe, think peace and thank you.

8. Moyer's speech would make Galloway blush......
well, almost anyway.

There must be something in the air. The reasonable folks are starting to speak up, and quite eloquently, I might add.

:-)

9. I can't get enough of it. I watched it repeatedly and even fell asleep to
it. It was almost a lullaby.
