nobody else on the planet believes the BS, why are they spinning so hard
Edited on Mon May-16-05 08:06 PM by G_j
to convince Americans (that the Newsweek story was wrong)? So can anyone venture a guess as to why this lame duck administration is making such a big deal out of the Newsweek story?
It is only Americans who they are capable of deceiving any more. Why bother?

I will offer one guess: They are very nervous about the UK memo and know it offers solid ground for Impeachment. They have seen that the tide of American opinion is turning.

What do ya think?

The BushBots are all in favor of throwing the Quran in the toilet, and I've no doubt most of them believe in their hearts that the story is true.

5. The memo and also
it hits at the general credibility of the press. It's sort of like the stories about the dems doing the same things that they do, or they try to make it seem that way. It makes it look like the dems are no better than they are. This was not a major story but if they make a big thing about this then they had better not try something with something really big cause no one should believe them.

6. you got that right, or there is another scandal about to break and
the White House needs to keep up the false outrage over acting on bad information.
Talk about hypocrites!

7. Either that or bushco knows the shit is going to
hit the fan big time and need something to deflect blame away from their ineptitude. The quran story could just be a dodge to cover the coming shitstorm in the middle east.

8. These Goons Don't Care About The World
Only their small clique of big money bankrollers. Everything else, including religious fundies, "social conservatives", liberatarians and anyone else who doesn't have money or can write big checks doesn't count.

They live in a parallel universe where their word is the only word and any dissent is never questioned and expected to be ruthlessly attacked. In the meanwhile, they hope to create "victims" of themselves in the process. When you drink the kool-aid it all makes perfect sense even if it defies any common decency or logic.

There's a ton of reasons this regime wants to create diversions and circuses. The UK Memo doesn't ride anywhere near the rumblings going on about rising oil prices, immigration, "activist" judges, SSI reform...all issues that are currently going against this regime. They're looking for an out and, as per usual, will create distractions to make sure that happens.

Most people in this country want to IGNORE Iraq...not either "win" this or examine what's really going on. As long as it doesn't affect their TV viewing schedule or if they can drive their SUV or load up on cheap consumer goods at Wal-Mart...outta sight, outta mind. The only way these sheeple will wake up is when they feel the pain. So far they aren't.

As long as this regime can disconnect the pains...which they do well...and then attack anyone who describes those pains with ruthless effeciency, this nation is condemned to even darker days.

9. Maybe Newsweek has something else in the works and this will
end its life (the story) prematurely. Remember, when CBS did the Texas Air National Guard story, they bumped another, better, more fully researched story about the forged Niger yellow-cake memos. Oh yeah, whatever happened to that story??

10. I think more people will believe Newsweek than the White House.
Retraction or no retraction, certainly Muslims know that we are capable of such. Honest Americans are capable of believing it. Good grief, look at what the U.S. did in Abu Ghraib, and suddenly people are supposed to believe we didn't give the toilet treatment to the Quran?

bush and rove are sliding into a cesspool of stupid on this one.
