Freepers on Memo, I love to see them squirm
LOL, I'm not sure if this was ever posted here but it gave me a good laugh. Don't you love how they automatically shift in to spin gear:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1402290/posts

The Dems are grasping at straws, trying to exploit semantics. Everyone south of the Mason Dixon line knows that fix means "to correct".
Yeah you asshat, in a certain context. When you say to fix intelligence around policy it means something a little different.

I would also like to know about Clinton's fund raising and relations with the Chinese.

How about releasing Kerry's form 180 and if Pres. Carter and Senator Warner who I believe was Sec Nav then, cleared his record or Pardoned him. Should he be allowed to hold an elected office.

Why wasn't Jane Fonda tried for Treason??

Why has all of this been kept from the American people?

He completely lost his mind, won't even address the topic.

Gee, I wonder why.

But I do think that the MSM and their democrat running buddies have a plan to extract revenge on this administration any way they can because they're still pissed that their traitor Kerry LOST. And they don't care if America loses in the process. Never underestimate the viciousness of a sore loser.
Yeah, the damn bastards at the liberal media that refuse to cover the story. Screw them!

"intelligence and facts were being fixed" to support the Iraq war in mid-2002

So they "fixed" the report, glad they fixed it before releasing the information.
Another idiot that doesn't have a reading comprehension above 2nd grade.

I frankly don't care whether "the facts" were "fixed" or fixed, or true or false, or exaggerated or overblown.

Because the actual fact is that Saddam was sitting on top of the world's second largest oil reserve, which happens to be the property of Western economies despite the unfortunate accident of geography.

That alone justifies our actions.

Well, at least he is honest.

This one takes the cake for the most idiotic post in there:

mmmmmmmmmmmmm,

fix
v. fixed, fix·ing, fix·es
v. tr.

1.
1. To place securely; make stable or firm: fixed the tent poles in the ground. See Synonyms at fasten.
2. To secure to another; attach: fixing the notice to the board with tacks.
2.
1. To put into a stable or unalterable form: tried to fix the conversation in her memory.
2. To make (a chemical substance) nonvolatile or solid.
3. Biology. To convert (nitrogen) into stable, biologically assimilable compounds.
4. To kill and preserve (a specimen) intact for microscopic study.
5. To prevent discoloration of (a photographic image) by washing or coating with a chemical preservative.
3. To direct steadily: fixed her eyes on the road ahead.
4. To capture or hold: The man with the long beard fixed our attention.
5.
1. To set or place definitely; establish: fixed her residence in a coastal village.
2. To determine with accuracy; ascertain: fixed the date of the ancient artifacts.
3. To agree on; arrange: fix a time to meet.
6. To assign; attribute: fixing the blame.
7.
1. To correct or set right; adjust: fix a misspelling; fix the out-of-date accounts.
2. To restore to proper condition or working order; repair: fix a broken machine.
3. Computer Science. To convert (data) from floating-point notation to fixed-point notation.
8. To make ready; prepare: fixed the room for the guests; fix lunch for the kids; fixed himself a milkshake.
9. To spay or castrate (an animal).
10. Informal. To take revenge upon; get even with.
11. To influence the outcome or actions of by improper or unlawful means: fix a prizefight; fix a jury.

So, from all of the various alternatives, we MUST chose the ONLY one which could be construed as harming PM Blair and President Bush.

Gee, no bias there I guess.........

Is their best defense really "well fix doesn't mean what it really means"? If our liberal media would finally report on this I would love to see Hannity try to spin this by saying fixing intelligence to fit an agenda doesn't really mean fixing intelligence to fit an agenda.

1. THEIR oil was OUR property??
What the hell? I don't think so idiot! It's in their land and it's their's for a reason. How would they like it if an Iraqi said that Texas oil was their's? Hmm. Not very well would they?

10. Hey, don't forget what the comedian Gallagher said. . .
"We should just drill through the center of the Earth and suck that oil out from underneath 'em. Just 'cause they're closer to it doesn't mean they own it!"

You know, the ones that read, "Kick their ass and steal their oil" that we've been hearing about lately.

17. It's even worse than those 3 lines
Pawel K only put half of it up, if you click on the link you will see:

"I frankly don't care whether "the facts" were "fixed" or fixed, or true or false, or exaggerated or overblown.

Taking position in Iraq also will provide needed staging for our next foray, which hopefully will be against the venal and corrupt (and terrorist-backing and Wahhabi) House Of Saud.

The West needed Iraq, and we needed the oil, and so we took it. Just as we will take the rest of the Middle East and whatever else ensures the continuance of Western society.

End of discussion."

11. not to mention England and the USA
two nations separated by a common language. If the memo had been written by a US citizen the verbiage might have been "based on" or " centered on". Only a comparison with the common usage in the environment that it was created would offer an accurate interpretation.

13. But there's really nothing to interpret
the memo said they would fix their intelligence around their policy to invade Iraq. Those silly freepers really need to come up with a better way to spin this before the media catches on this (which might never happen).
