Who was this murderer who promoted the criminal warlord in the 'christian' Right? It was Ted Bundy, the monster who murdered scores of innocent people.

"The night before Bundy was executed, he gave a television interview to Dr. James Dobson, head of the Christian organization Focus on the Family. Bundy explained how his consumption of violent pornography helped "shape and mold" his violence into "behavior too terrible to describe". Ted Bundy explained that he felt that violence in the media, "particularly sexualized violence", sent boys "down the road to being Ted Bundys". It has been noted that Bundy had never blamed pornography until this interview, and that no pornographic materials were found at his home when it was searched."

1. Why would anyone believe

what a serial murderer like Ted Bundy has to say? Bundy's whole life was a continuous lie to anyone who came in contact with him.
The only thing to believe from a serial killer is where the bodies are because the proof of his words is in finding them.

2. Because Jesus saved him

And Dobson (supposedly) believed that Bundy would actually go to heaven after his execution.

You can bet that Dobson got a lot of mileage out that interview; it raised his stature among his peer group. "Why if Jesus can save Ted Bundy, he can certainly save you."

And to think that Dobson expects to warmly greet Bundy on the "other side."

That's why they are so good at working with criminals down here.

5. Print Edition Playboy Interview

I remember reading a paper-edition Playboy interview with some of the late, unlamented Ted Bundy's defense attorneys. Even THEY didn't believe Ted Bundy's say-so. The kindest thing you can say about James Dobson supposedly taking Ted Bundy at his word is that Dobson wasn't as young, pretty, gullible, and female as some of serial killer Bundy's victims.
