DRACUT -- A Kansas-based evangelical group plans to picket Englesby Intermediate School June 6 after a student won an essay contest writing about openly gay comedienne Ellen DeGeneres.

A flier from the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka singles out a Women in History essay written by a 12-year-old student who chose DeGeneres as her subject. The invective-laden leaflet includes a photo of the Englesby School and a grotesque devil. The diatribe attacks the staff, labeling it a "homo-fascist regime," among other things.

Acting Police Chief Kevin Richardson said he received a communication from Fred Phelps, pastor of the Kansas church, asking for information about securing the proper permits. Richardson recoiled when shown the flier, saying, "No, we didn't get this."

want to :puke: I wish people like him would volunteer to become cannon fodder for b the next war /b and there is one on the horizon judging by all the activity here near Fayetteville, NC. We are having WAAAAY more than usual activity from the choppers and cargo planes and other odds and ends billion dollar military craft (jets crashing, flying overhead in patterns of 2 at a time until 8 or more have passed over, then returning, etc.)

and disgusting. They need to get a freakin life. There's nothing wrong with a child writing an essay about someone they like. Good grief.

4. They don't want their children to hear about Lesbian Sex.

Nobody warned them their children might be exposed to the idea of Lesbian Sex. So naturally, they need to protest Lesbian Sex and make sure no further publicity is given to Lesbian Sex, so kids in neighbboring schools won't have to learn anything about Lesbian Sex. People should be able to see Ellen DeGeneres on television without knowing that she practices Lesbian Sex. So this protest should put an end to anybody writing, discussing, or knowing anything whatsoever about Lesbian Sex, and the whole topic of Lesbian Sex will then disappear, for the sake of the children!
