Base Closure List - anyone feeling "drafty"?
Just a quick run through the list shows a very large proportion of "Reserve centers" and "Recruiting offices" being cut.

I guess if you have a draft into active service, then you don't need reserve facilities and you can combine a bunch of recruiting centers into fewer "induction stations".

1. There will be no draft!
Why would the Republicans give the Democrats such a "wedge" issue to beat them with? They are not nearly as stupid as you think.

2. The repukes made and control the electronic voting systems in
this country. they don't have to worry about wedge issues any more.. they clearly feel free to do what the fuck ever they want to do regardless of what the american people want.

5. Nonsense.
IF it's not close, they can't steal it. A draft would definitely make it "not close".

There will be no draft.

3. Imagine a very large 'terror' incident..and a 'patriotic' call for full...
mobilization.

Now, imagine a full-court-press by the media to portray The Draft as the only 'fair' response.

6. But that isn't the situation.
I can imagine anything, but that won't make it happen. In any event, I think the Repubs will let the Democrats take the lead on re-instating the draft (Charlie Rangel, anyone?) and the blame. I mean, it's the perfect situation for Karl Rove to manipulate.

There will be no draft.
