So, the f***ing Navy called again.
I'm diabetic and against this war, anyway.

This is about the 25th time they've called.

There's got to be something to say to them; maybe that I'm a gay quadriplegic?

1. So you've told them "NO" 25 times and they keep calling?
Tell them that you'll report them for harrassment if they don't stop.

3. Remind them there are thousands of strapping Young Republicans
who are the perfect age, and in the prime of health! And, they support the war!

4. Reminds me of the crazy things
guys did to dodge the draft back during the Vietnam War. I knew several who claimed to be gay and one who claimed to be a heroin addict.

7. Here's a thought
Its possible in most towns/counties to get a print out from your local registrar of voters who is registered as a republican.

I don't know what it will cost to get it printed out, but if you were so inclined, you could get that printed out and mail it to him with a note saying that since these people all presumably voted for Bush* and his war, then CERTAINLY any number of the people on the list will live up to their votes and be GLAD to join up.

Encourage him to give a copy to his fellow recruiters and tell them to spend ALL their time calling and mailing all of those people. Their addresses will be on the list, btw

10. I do.
I took the ASVAB my junior year, not knowing it was a front to recruit kids.

It was a standardized test so of course I scored off the charts :D

In retrospect, I should have marked every question wrong, but...

19. ASVAB
ARMED SERVICES Vocational Aptitude Battery. The first two words should have clued you in that it was not a "front" to recruit kids.

21. ASVAB test
Funny....my school told us we HAD to take the ASVABs. But when I took mine, I noticed that everyone in the library at the time were in the top 20% of my class (about 50 of us in there). The Marine recruiter who was supervising the whole thing told us he was looking for officer candidates. The other 200+ students were out taking the test in the cafeteria...apparently for the grunt squad. Several of us asked to opt out, but the school wouldn't let us. Didn't know what it was at the time, of course, but they still call me and my sister every six months or so.

BTW...Marine recruiter got busted the year after I graduated for screwing a couple of the girls in school. Don't know how much trouble he got in...probably just got reassigned, a la Cardinal Law.

He moved to Oregon. We don't have an address yet, but we'll forward it as soon as he's settled in (as in: never )

12. The NAVY? Why Does the NAVY Need Bodies All of a Sudden
Last I heard they had too many and were trying to move some of them
into the Army. If the Navy is ramping up their own recruiting,
who are we going to invade next?

I thought it was Iran, but you don't need the Navy for that.

North Korea? Uh Oh! :nuke::nuke:

17. Actually the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman
would be important areas for the Navy to secure in any action against Iran. The Strait of Hormuz controls access to the Persian Gulf and is an important strategic choke point for critical oil shipping from the Gulf. (Can you say gasoline rationing?) The Strait is configured such that Iranian territory surrounds it on three sides. The Navy would have a much bigger role to play than in the occupation of Iraq.

next time they call, use it. It's what they told us to do to obscene callers in self-defense class.

They're pretty desparate, you may need an air horn.

15. Tell them you are a vegan
Vegans do not believe in deliberately taking the life of any sentient living creature when it is avoidable. This would pretty much render you useless as a killing machine.

16. Well, you could still participate
Provided they gave you some non-leather combat boots, cold weather gear without wool or down, shots at induction that weren't grown in eggs, tested on animals or suspended in gelatin or glycerin, and they fed you separate meals and put you in a position where you weren't expected to shoot anyone, that is.

You know, I think they'd be better off with the gay quadrapalegic. :) Better tell them you're a gay quadrapalegic vegan Quaker with athsma, a venereal disease and a doozy of a mental illness just to be sure. The days when ass pimples kept people home are long gone.

24. Contact all Republican Congressmen & Congresswomen....
And demand to know why someone with your disqualifying health is repeatedly contacted for military service, when all of their Republican family members and supporters are supposed to be meeting the quotas by serving in the military because of their full support of war around the World.

Tell them you are making a documentary about your experience, that you will be in D.C. and would like to interview them.

How much you want to bet that you will be removed from their call list?

27. When I went through this....
Craig,

They hounded me, too, but seemed to lay off after I was honest about my drug use, albeit as minimal as it was. They were willing to let me lie to them about having only done marijuana three times (which was the max at the time), but I refused. I actually saw it as a way to get them off my back.

Hope this helps.
