16. Is a tourist boycott fair to the town?

Don't get me wrong I am as appalled by this church's actions as anyone, but should we hold an entire town responsible for the actions of a single church? My advice would be go to Waynesville, but make sure to let them know you disapprove of the church's actions. Maybe picket outside, or better yet inside, the church. Call the IRS and demand action, call the church and demand Chandler's resignation, do whatever it takes to hold the church accountable. But unless the town's city hall decides to voice support for the church lets not penalize everyone who has the misfortune to live near such a hateful congregation.

13. the majority of waynesville residents

are absolutely appalled at the actions of Chan Chandler. this town thrives on tourism in the summer and in the fall (leaf lookers). tourism is its life blood. this is a small town with a very fragile economic base. a boycott would be a very serious, serious blow.
