Andy has a check to give the hospital to cover the amount they have not already received. It's a loan against the money that has been donated, in case Pay-Pay can't be unlocked today. No way are we going to let Andy miss his surgery!

I did reach someone in disputes resolutions, who did take the issue seriously and promised to work on it. Also, sfexpat is working with paypal and the hospital.

We found a way to get things done without breaking DU rules.

Not that it's material to the situation, but they may feel more empathetic if they're brought into the fold as their service was used as a vehicle for many of the contributions.

This could turn out to be good PR for them. How about a testimonial (explaining Andy's plight and thanking them for their involvement) that they could post on their web site!! They could even be encouraged to become a "partner" in fundraising...Just my two cents...

... calmer heads always prevail. Perhaps the whole timing "fiasco" we have just seen had to do with them double checking for security reasons and someone waiting for the "next manager above me" to give it the OK.

I am not affiliated (currently) with PayPal, but I have never had a problem doing online purchases through them.

I post this in hopes of fostering better understanding between us all.

18. Does anyone have any GOOD lamestream media contacts?

Not email addresses to media types that are not personally known, but a live human who might work this into a story that will get covered. It's a perfect hook for a story about the power of them there internets!!! Media coverage might also persuade JH to give him a break on aftercare....you know the old saying, any publicity is good publicity, and they might be motivated if the publicity is handled right.
