Utah oil find?
Rush and some others were crowing about this the other day. They said possibly over a billion barrels were down there. I haven't seen from any news sources except right wing ones that I don't trust. Can anyone confirm this or is this just misinformation to try and undermine hybrids and CAFE standards etc?

3. WooHoo, 45 days worth of oil.....and that's a "major discovery."
Edited on Mon May-09-05 12:30 PM by GumboYaYa
That amount of oil would not have even raised eyebrows in the seventies when true major finds were being made in Texas and Louisiana on a regular basis.

4. And in other news, the LDS church were named "terraists" by the pResident
Mr Bush said "Them Normans don't believe in a real God like we do. They think God talks to a guy named Joe Smith and they wear this silly underwear. And they don't even drink coffee, let alone alcohol. Now how can someone like that not be an evildoer?"

6. I'm sure that Utah residents will be happy to turn their land over to
W for drilling . . .

Just think - no "over water" shipping or "pipelines" through unprotected areas . . .

Yeah, right.

8. This actually came out a couple of weeks ago. It's the kind
of oil that is inside of rocks and dirt, and is really hard (i.e., expensive) to extract. It's in there, alright. But getting it out of the ground is a bitch. It's not like an oil"well", that creates a gusher, or anything like that.

:kick:

9. Does anyone else remember
when we started Desert Storm, the president of Mexico said that if we would help them get to the oil that is in Mexico, it would help both of our economies? We turned them down. Why?
