It was awesome, a terrific political thriller. I highly recommend it.
Beinhart skewers Bushco in a story about a plot to steal the presidential election. It's dark comedy, but the kind that makes you bark out laughing so people stare if you're reading in the coffee shop.
When I got to the chapter that reveals what the plot is, I said, out loud, in public, "Oh, shit!" It was something so simple, and yet so outrageous, that Karl Rove hasn't even thought of it yet.
I hope. :scared:
Beinhart is a good writer. All the foreshadowing, the twists, and the pacing are exactly what you would want in a thriller. He changes the names, of course, to protect the criminals, but there's no question who everyone is, and some of the fake names he tags on them are hilarious.
It's not highbrow, but vastly entertaining. A fun read.
