And Hillary Rosen is wrong. I can load songs onto my iTunes in any format as long as the site is Mac compatible. Kazaa and Napster aren't. I have about 50 songs on MP3 not bought on iTunes and they all play fine. She should seek out computer training before she throws a tantrum like this.

I agree, Frum is awful. He tries to turn WW-II victory celebrations into something morbid for the Russians. If the USA had lost 10s of millions of lives from a S. American invasion, we would have done much more than unleash a wave of terrorism in Central America. We would have locked it down tighter than anything humanity has ever seen, and the only Spanish-speaking people left would be working for a small dept in the US military.

His effort at being 'expansive' is excruciatingly selective. This is the sort of person who prefers the religious police of S. Arabia over Castro's Cuba.

scroll? Did I miss them? Why DU and not those three? DU is not so much a Blog as a Forum.

I thought that was odd. The site looks interesting and the diversity reminds me of the old "Salon" Days before they ran out of money and couldn't pay to have a true Salon of writers anymore.

I wish her luck with it and will read it. But, something about it worries me. Maybe that this will be a way for the "Mainstream" journalits/pundits/politico's and operatives from the RW Think Tanks to take over all our reading and begin to control the internet the way they have the Newspapers, Magazines and Cables. She says she will maintain diversity and I hope that will be true.

for decades we have been mobilized in pockets by supporting a huge variety of worthy causes like the environment and children and women and homeless etc
while the hard right has strategically mobilized media and military and corporations that all support a common message of greed and power (in a general sense)
