Andy could just as well have been someone who was not connected to an organization such as DU and would have DIED. With all the Schiavo BULLSHIT, people are dying every day because they can't come up with FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS CASH. This is the crime in the medical community. Fifty grand or your life.

God save the corporations and all the CEOs who sail them! So what if their ships stay afloat on the bodies of the less than filthy rich? Yep, we can't have single payer health insurance! Must think only of the financial health of the uber rich!

I will die early due to the system. But at least it will be an end to the ever increasing pain.

I've felt that for a while now. So many people in a world of hurt and they/we are being shut out of health care.

3. As many times as a small group of us have tried to get

the DU community interested in the health care problems we face, most of our threads have sunk like cement without hardly being read at all.
Andy's dilemma has made everyone aware that this could be one of them. Catastrophic illness can strike at any age. Let's get this health care discussion up on top again. I and other DUers have a lot of information on this. I hope for a change people will bone up on this problem.
