OK Folks, Take A Breather
The number of Clark bashing posts is getting ridiculous. Time to think twice before you post one. Yes, there were a lot of thrilled, and enthusisatic pro-Clark posts over the last couple of days. Maybe these posts got under your skin. I don't know. But I do know that the excitement of Clark supporters who have long awaited his entrance into the race, is perfectly understandable. It's been said before. Here it is again; we are not doing are candidates or ourselves any favors by smearing them.

I enjoy a heated discussion with passionate and informed people, but I always enjoy it more when there's civility and honesty involved. Some of the posts are so snarky and passive/agressive, it's impossible to do that. Other posts are just plain out hostile and rude.

None of the above precludes posts that reflect differences, concerns and dislike of policies or a candidate's past record.

And one more thing: When you demonize en masse, the supporters of a certain candidate, that's snarky, proxy p/a criticism of the candidate.

Keep it clean. Or at least cleaner.

1. As a Deanie, I don't bother with
you-got-peanut-butter-in-my-chocolate,no-you-got-chocolate-in-my-peanut-butter Clark/Dean sniping. After all, they may be two great tastes who taste great together.

Do your best for your candidate, and let go of the result.

2. So many of these posts are from trolls
That's what I think.

If not, we are in serious trouble.

4. I agree
I'd like to chalk it all up to troll infiltration, but I know that's not the case. I support Clark, and I'm feeling a little bit discouraged today. I plan to vote for whichever candidate gets the nom(with the exception of Lieberman). I have no problem with DUers posting information that may reflect negatively on Clark, but the attitude with which it is often presented is what bothers me. I'm not a candidate basher, so I guess I can't relate to the mindset...

8. Sadly
Sadly, a Lieberman nomination would be boon to the Greens and, therefor, a cavalry charge to save George Armstrong Bushter's circle of corporate wagons. Happily, Joe Lieberman ain't gettin nominated.

9. I'd vote
for Joe in that case, but I'd hold my nose while I did it.

6. I'm afraid you are wrong.
But don't worry. DU is not representative of the real world.

5. Trolls?? or people who support other candidates...
this is cute:
"None of the above precludes posts that reflect differences, concerns and dislike of policies or a candidate's past record."

Fair enough for Dean et al...but Clark doesn't have a past record in politics--just sound bytes and a noble tradition of the Man On The White Horse come to save us all vagueness...

But worked for de Gaul and Ike
