GF Tribune on Bush's cattle guard joke - this is hilarious!!
Those wacky Bushes ...
President Bush's cattle-guard joke, which bombed here in Great Falls a couple of months ago, was the setup for first lady Laura Bush's attention-getting monologue last weekend at the annual White House correspondents dinner.

When the president launched into last week's retelling of the joke (having to do with a city slicker getting directions to turn left at a couple of cattle guards, then asking, "What color uniforms do those cattle guards have on?"), Laura Bush interupted him: "Not that old joke — not again!"

She then launched into a comedy routine of her own that had 'em rolling in the aisles.

The irony of the joke is that, according to the New York Times, it was told back in 1978 by Bush's opponent in a congressional race, with Bushas the city slicker. His opponent, Kent Hance, won.
