Princeton Students Stage A Great Anti-Frist "Filibuster" Protest!
Edited on Fri May-06-05 11:42 PM by DistressedAmerican
Found this little tidbit buried in the education news section of MSNBC's website.

I thought it was an impressive protest action and it has been going on 24 hours a day for over a week. Great Stuff. Spread it around, kick it, whatever you usually do in the case of under reported good news.

These folks deserve our attention! They are working their asses off!

Princeton 'filibuster' rips alum Frist
Students protest Senate leader's proposed rules change

The Associated Press
Updated: 5:13 p.m. ET May 6, 2005

PRINCETON BOROUGH, N.J. - Princeton University students dismayed by a Senate push to scale back filibusters have been reading aloud Shakespeare, biographies and the ever-exciting phone book around the clock for more than a week.

The protest is being staged outside the university’s Frist Campus Center, named for the family of Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, who is behind the proposed changes.

“We have the Frist building here, so we saw the opportunity to make a symbolic statement and one of substance,” said graduate student Juan Melli-Huber, 24.

Princton Filibusterers I think :yourock:!

Keep up the pressure. Just because Frist's rich daddy bought him a building, it doesn't mean you have to like or support the guy!
