Anybody who has studied ANYTHING on the founders of our nation know that they were products of the Enlightenment. That was that period of about 200-300 years ago in which science and reason were actually promoted as an alternative to theocracy and ignorance, the mirror opposite of today.

even teach science in her schools without some dumb ass complaining.

At the Wilhelma Zoo in Stuttgart, Germany, there is a display-complete with white and black mice (and a breeding program in action)-to explain who Gregor Mendel was and what his laws meant.

I sat in front of this "mice" display so long, one other zoo-goer opined "she must really like mice" (another American tourist)

No...I was just amazed. My own country, America...what a sad state it is in...and here I was at a zoo in a country where science is embraced... where science is considered natural... where it's considered normal. Where science is acceptable.
