Surprising editorial in a major newspaper
“With a full complement of smoke and mirrors distorting spending, revenues and the deficit, the Republican Congress recently passed its 2006 budget resolution. Admittedly, the 2006 budget does project a modicum of spending restraint in some areas, such as domestic discretionary spending. But health-care entitlement spending -- in particular, the Medicaid program, which President Bush's budget slightly targeted -- will proceed full-speed ahead. Moreover, the resolution's celebrated achievement -- chopping the federal budget deficit in half between 2004 ($521 billion) and 2008 ($254 billion) -is accomplished only by using gimmicks and other subterfuge…..”

1. Does this mean it's time for * to be "resigned." Maybe they'll run
another WH sex scandal story like they did in 1989. Hmmm...

3. paine, Here is a link. This is really a stunning event that needs some
clever analysis applied. In 1989 the Washington Times ran an article on a sex ring involving the White House. It was part of the larger Franklin pedophile scandal centered in Omaha. The reason this is interesting is that the series ran in the Washington Times, the Moon owned news paper. It was barely covered elsewhere in the country. This link has photos of the actual news paper. There are additional articles here and some commentary.

Why would the WashTimes, a very pro Republican rag, even cover this?

Why didn't the other media outlets ever touch it?

Odd indeed. Sorry for the obscure reference.
