For those of you who still watch news on TV
Edited on Thu May-05-05 03:32 PM by Bouncy Ball
(excluding The Daily Show, BBC, CBC, World Link, NWI, etc.).

Why?

I'm being serious, I want to know why.

We all know it sucks. Is it going to magically stop sucking one day?

We all have heard about "know your enemy" but I can find out about any story I want (and a lot more than what is on TV) from the internet. Plus I can pick and choose and not have to listen to their grating voices.

Hopefully everyone here knows that every pundit's worst fear is a dead mike and an empty room. Ignoring them is the one thing they DON'T want you to do.

So why does anyone who has more than three brain cells to rub together still watch that stuff? I can see why Jon Stewart and his writers do it, they base their jokes on it.

But why do you? Habit? Just want to see what outrageous thing they say or do next?

I'm sincerely curious.

1. Honestly, because I don't get BBC America.
I generally watch The News Hour on PBS.

4. I completely agree.
Somewhere during Reagan's term the republicans have simply decided that dumping the truth in favor of rhetoric was a lot less incriminating. That's why you're better off not paying any mind to what the "other side" thinks. It is best to also have a healthy dose of skepticism of whatever political party you're dealing with.

5. People who watch it still are brainwashed
They still don't understand the dymanics and they do still have "faith" that America will become what they imagine...magically, overnight.

They contribute to the legitimacy of an illegitimate medium by turning it on every day.

Boycott CNN, Fox, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, and CBS. They have no value other than spinning pro-elite propaganda. Listening to it is like eating at McDonalds...you're poluting your mind and body.
