Lynndie mistrial
Because my ex was a USMC JAG I've been keeping up with the trends of thought among military lawyers and judges regarding the breaking and bending of Geneva Convention, rules of engagement and detainment, etc. that surround the Iraq and Afghanistan occupations. I think that as a professional, that Army judge knows that something's rotten with her plea deal and just isn't going to swallow it. This could be his way of taking a stab at seeing that real justice is done by opening up her trial to new avenues of investigation (i.e., going upward in the chain of command, rather than stopping with a low-level enlisted person).
