suggestions for something to email a repub bro-inlaw
I have a republican brother in law. periodically he sends me right wing crap in my email.
I have attempted, time and again, to get him to stop. I honestly thought we had arrived at an agreement but he broke it again today by including me in on a massmailing critical of liberals, congress, etc.

I am done with this. I love my sister, but I am not going to be held hostage to this guy's rants anymore.

I have determined to do this: his mailing list, which included me, is around one hundred people. I assume most are republican. So, I intend to fire back a response, and oh-so-accidentally "reply to all".

so, help me out: I want something to put in the email that will make him an instant pariah among his group of repub friends for exposing them to whatever I send.
I don't want a virus, and I don't want to send just crap insults. I want kind of a short but sweet "here is what is right about the liberals in this country" or "here is how Bushco is turning this into a fascist regime".

I could write my own thing, but I was hoping someone out there had a suggestion or a link of some really biting, and effectively anti-repuke emails.

thanks in advance.

A Day in the Life of Joe Middle-Class Republican

Joe gets up at 6:00am to prepare his morning coffee. He fills his pot full of good clean drinking water because some liberal fought for minimum water quality standards. He takes his daily medication with his first swallow of coffee. His medications are safe to take because some liberal fought to insure their safety and work as advertised.

All but $10.00 of his medications are paid for by his employers medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance, now Joe gets it too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs this day. Joe's bacon is safe to eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.

Joe takes his morning shower reaching for his shampoo; His bottle is properly labeled with every ingredient and the amount of its contents because some liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some tree hugging liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our air. He walks to the subway station for his government subsidized ride to work; it saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees. You see, some liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.

Joe begins his work day; he has a good job with excellent pay, medicals benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe's employer pays these standards because Joe's employer doesn't want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed he'll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some liberal didn't think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune.

Its noon time, Joe needs to make a Bank Deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe's deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some liberal wanted to protect Joe's money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Depression.

Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae underwritten Mortgage and his below market federal student loan because some stupid liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his life-time.

Joe is home from work, he plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive to dad's; his car is among the safest in the world because some liberal fought for car safety standards. He arrives at his boyhood home. He was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers Home Administration because bankers didn't want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electric until some big government liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and demanded rural electrification. (Those rural Republicans would still be sitting in the dark)

He is happy to see his dad who is now retired. His dad lives on Social Security and his union pension because some liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn't have to. After his visit with dad he gets back in his car for the ride home.

He turns on a radio talk show, the host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. (He doesn't tell Joe that his beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day) Joe agrees, “We don't need those big government liberals ruining our lives; after all, I'm a self made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have".

8. thanks! that's much appreciated.
I think it may be too longish for his flea-sized attention span, though.

can you tell I don't like my brother in law? :)

My sister was dating him and he threatened to blow off my nephew's head with a gun to "save the world a lot of problems". (he didn't have his gun with him, which is a good thing, I guess). My sister broke up with him over that, and just as I was finally relaxing and thinking "good riddance", my sister sends us wedding invitations....wtf?

she had already left two other abusive drunks, so I guess its a pattern....crap.
But at least neither of the previous winners hounded me about my politics.

3. I found that
hitting "reply all" on such emails from repub friends & family & writing my own scathing responses had the immediate effect of getting them to stop sending me that junk. :)

4. Send him back an email, "accidentally" reply all, thanking him
for your recent sexual encounter. Tell him that it really opened your eyes to all that you were missing, and that you would like to see him again.

6. Some Frat Boy
who is the son of a company president (he lets everbody know it, too, especially us girls) is very annoying with his Young Republican attitude.

He walks around with an arrogant manner, always wearing his dark sport coat and tie.

Well, he started spouting off in an econ class about how the Democrats controlled Congress and all for 40 years, and how the debt grew by trillions of dollars.

Boy, did I have fun telling them about the HUGE deficits Reagan ran up in the 80s, and how President Clinton (now there's a real man for you) ran surpluses and managed the economy so much better, and now Bush has it in a big hole again. I had just finished a paper on government deficits so I knew my stuff.

Maybe you can tell that freeper in-law that he should stop sending out his garbage until his Bushies learn how to keep our economy safe.

16. Ask him if he knows how much a cab ride from Baghdad to the
airport....six miles....costs?

Answer: $35,000.00.

Ask him why he thinks that might be.

On second thought, just forget about it. They are brainwashed and don't think. They just 'believe', so they are hopeless to convince of anything using facts.

18. I would not 'accidentally' reply to all. That is never an accident. That
is not fair to him.

I would state your case and ask your sister to talk to him and remove your name from the list.

Tell her it makes you sick. Tell her it is causing much too much stress and you do not want to have your relationship go down the drain. Tell her that it is up to her to reel him in - she is the one you have the relationship with. She can put her foot down. If you have tried to appeal to him and he ignores you - you must appeal to your sister.

A knee-jerk reaction is what you describe. Think it through a little bit more. Really solve the problem rather that escalating it. This is family. You cannot just walk away (and why would you want to unless you are in an adolescent individuation phase of your life for some reason and you need to step back for reasons of self-preservation).

He is being unfair and tell her this. If it continues, block his email and add give your sister one of the free email addresses that is out there and tell her it is just for you and her.

Better yet - if they live close by - show up on their doorstep and demand to get onto his computer and make a joke of it. Sit down, demand the passwords and go in and take your own email address off his 100+ list. Tease him. Come up with zingers like:

"Buddy - I never knew you got paid for each democrat you bagged - if your finances are that bad.. I'll lend you some money"

"I see your Karl Rove training in 'how to sell a used car or a cheesy political party' is moving along swimmingly"

Don't know really.

I just would not escalate. Venting is okay. He is pissing you off and ignoring your feelings. But try and really solve the issue rather than picking a fight. The GOP often relies on knee-jerk reactions in the wounded and beaten down democrats to point a finger at them and say: " see - they are evil and deranged democrats".

Take the high road. They have not figured out a way to kill empathy and adulthood in us all. And that is how we will win this thing.

I've talked to him repeatedly, and he behaves...for a while. then he starts it up again.

I appreciate the advice, but I've already traveled down the high road.

21. Then simply block him. And give your sister a free email address
that just the two of you can use. Don't succumb to his fever.

You: :dilemma:

child molester convictions. There are lists of them all over the internet, including here.

There are so many, you could send out ten or fifteen at a time, and keep sending them every so often.

Since you said you wanted something with teeth. Bet they won't like that a whole lot.
