Jeb Bush's Domineering Style Chafes Even His Own Camp

I t made headlines the other day when Tom Slade, who engineered Gov. Jeb Bush's emergence as a political powerhouse, voiced some of the same criticisms as Bush's Democratic critics, calling him ``arrogant'' and saying he ``does not have the maturity ... and wisdom'' to be president.

Slade, the former state chairman of the Republican Party, only offered for the record what many state Republicans have long said in private.

Bush is a strong and innovative leader. Floridians saw him at his best during the hurricane crisis, when he was both resolute and compassionate. But as Slade told a University of South Florida political scientist who is writing a history of the Florida Republican Party, Bush has a ``dictatorial'' style and does not welcome advice or compromise.

-snip- (the snip holds some examples)

It's because of Bush's great abilities - and potential - that we wish the governor would take Slade's unsweetened comments to heart.

4. I hope
he never runs for President. I don't think he has that "cowboy" thing going on like Bush does. That's why people voted for him the first time. Just because of his "down to earth" personality and nonsense. :eyes: Oh and of course his last name.

19. You bring up an interesting question, though
If Jebby runs, will he suddenly develop that fake Texas accent like his brother?

Across the board, her offspring are unfit.

6. That hasn't seemed to hamper his brother's "career"
With the money and resources at their command, the oligarchs can make even George W. Bush seem to be something other than a spoiled frat boy who, in a just world, would be pumping gas instead of pumping up gas prices.

9. Ditto Rudy
He too was at his "best" during 9/11 and immediately afterwords. It was the rest of the time that he was an arrogant, obstinate, jerk.

Amazing all these Republicans have so much in common?

12. I guess that's my fear...
that it just doesn't matter. We will have whomever they want us to have, and regardless of how many people apparently vote against him. Gosh I hate feeling/appearing like a tinfoil hatter, but I honestly just can't say I believe we can vote them out.

15. I agree - our votes won't count unless on paper ballots, hand counted

with an audience.

he's a bush, and innately UNqualified for any position of public office and as a bush should be DISQUALIFIED from ever holding a public office again.
