where can i find data on soldier deaths per month

from the beginning of the war. and is there one location, where i can pick up civilian deaths. like 40 dead due to a car bomb ect

my niece told me her teacher said 100's? were getting killed at beginning, and only a couple a day now. this doesnt fit with the soldiers either way, i have to assume he is talking civilians. but regardless i would like the true info to present to niece, and give her option of giving to teacher

...The Washington Post has a section called "Faces of the Fallen" that has pictures of all the GIs we've lost, from the beginning. Also there's a bit about how they died, and sometimes even a scan of their last letter home. Very touching and sad.
