My father recieved his benefits after 25 yrs without em
I remember as a teen, back 25 years ago, he had served in the AF, the NG, and finally the Navy reserves. He became a concientious objector after serving that long, and he had a 'wonderful' commanding officer that decided to yes, give him an honorable discharge, but say that he only served for one day less than is required to get access to medical, and retirement pay. soo, for 25 yrs he has put up with this crap ..but

no more!!( he explained that in the reserves, you have to be in longer than 20 to recieve bennies? he did, and it wasnt the issue.)

he just showed me his new military ID and explained he has medical for life....yet he is still waiting on all this back pay and soon to come monthly pay he will hopefully recieve. he has been running the gammut of beaurocratic BS, but it looks like he is about to recieve his moneys due him. he says just getting the free medical is awesome! i say, here is to getting what is due to you after serving all those years and no retirement pay!! he is going to turn 65 this year.

he said one of the better things that came out of it was outliving that CO and getting what he deserved any damn way.

im glad to see pop getting his just rewards, and wondered if others had gone thru something similiar.

Wanted to share...

2. Good to Hear
I'm glad to hear that Tex. I too am a vet who has been jerked around by the armed forces. Its good to see Americas service men to get at least what they have been promised, although even that is not near what they deserve.
