New spin: It's *LAURA* who's the smart witty social one

In a stunning reversal, the Republican spin machine is floating trial balloons to cement Laura Bush's legacy as a bright witty social butterfly.

Where previously they had claimed she avoided the spotlight and always preferred books to people, now they've written lines such as this: "But George and I are complete opposites — I'm quiet, he's talkative, I'm introverted, he's extroverted, I can pronounce nuclear —"

Yes, this was part of a comedy sketch intending to show her as capable of reading funny pre-written lines, but insiders acknowledge a trend toward marketing Laura as the smart one and Dubya as the stupid unsuspecting farktwad who can't read a teleprompter and has allowed his handlers to sell this country down the river.

It's all part of the planned 2008 party platform, "Blame that dumbass George, not us other Republicans"

1. Well, now that AOL has put her on a list of
100 candidates for the Greatest America, beating out people like Groucho Marx, William Faulkner, Miles Davis, and Ulysses S. Grant, well, she's got a lot more confidence.

2. She sounds as if she was funny...until you see the video...
The jokes written for her were actually funny, which is scary in itself...you know the old adage that there is humor in truth? Jokes about Babs being "Don Corleone?" George being a clueless dolt? These kind of joke wouldn't have been funny had they not been so true. And THAT is what is so scary.

But don't get too worried about Laura's new comedy career. Again, the words are funny on paper. But when you see Laura's delivery, it's a different story...she is droll, and just reads the lines like a librarian reading information. No inflection, little emotion...just reading a script.

LOL! The president is an idiot, his family are mafiosos! What a laugh riot! Tell us more, Laura!

4. I thought she was kind of funny
I don't hate Laura or the twins. I thought her comment about being able to pronounce nuclear properly was a really good joke.

9. It WAS a good joke. That some guy wrote for her.
Big deal. They paid good money for a writer, that is all that demonstrates. She still has a terrible speaking manner, and her delivery was flat and lifeless, as if listening to a sixth grader called upon to read out loud.

The only thing noteworthy is that the BFEE didn't have the writer "disappeared" after penning his all-too-true observations for the Spepford First Lady to recite on command.

6. the banality of Laura's evil
"George's answer to any problem at the ranch is to cut it down with a chainsaw — which I think is why he and Cheney and Rumsfeld get along so well."
Hyuk Hyuk oh Laura that is soo funny! You mean like Cheney and Rummy leveled Iraq! oh hyuk hyuk snort. You are so charming and witty to show us the lighter side of death and destruction, such a lady! :grr:
The sand soaked with the blood of those cut down with Rummy's chainsaw are nothing more to you than a banal punchline. :grr:
