But the sad truth is that they will do anything to maintain power - they would sell their souls and watch the country go down if they can just keep their hold on the reins of power. It is the Repubs that are paranoid of losing power, rather than the Democrats lust for power, that is the problem.

Molly Ivins once wrote that trying to organize democrats is like trying to "herd cats", and sometimes that seems to be devastatingly accurate. Don't get me wrong, I think they are a bunch of disingenuos, lying, souless bastards, but they are so well trained to stay on message and back the shrub that they appeal to a certain segment of the electorate (you know, the types who think critical thinking and reason are sins). Democrats are just to smart for their own damn good sometimes.
