So, where are you on this graph?

I'm thinking most people here would be in the lower-left quadrant, as an estimate.

I'm -5.50,-6.62. Right by the Dalai Lama. :)

10. I agree. Progressive encompasses liberals, Democrats, Greens,
Socialists. I've noticed some people refer to progressive Republicans, although I can't quite go that far.

If I could choose my own party label I'd be a Gremolist. I like platforms of each.

It's highly geared toward social liberal/conservative. More accurately, I'm a fiscal conservative, social liberal.

I don't know what that means, I don't think I'm that out of step with the rest of America. I'm rather disappointed that there wasn't a "neither agree or disagree" option, there were some things I was forced to either agree or disagree with that I wasn't comfortable with.

20. Funny how this question ...
"Those who are able to work, and refuse the opportunity, should not expect society's support."

Is usually used by the right to criticize the left, yet most
'leftists' would agree with that statement ...

Anyways: Here is mine :

Economic Left/Right: -5.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.79

Somwhere near Ghandi .... Im in good company ....

btw: I didnt see a 'socialist' result .... how can someone say they were 'socialist' from this test ? ...

31. Typical Right Wing Strawman of the Left ....
We want to 'give away money to lazy people' ....

NOTHING could be further from the truth: we want society to help educate citizens so THEY can contribute back to society, and help educate yet more citizens, for the common good of society itself ....

You DONT want to work ? .. then fuck you ... Even hard core socialists expect everyone who can work to work ....

Progressivism isnt a free lunch, it's a hand up ....

46. As a recent convert to Progressivism
from libertarianism, I think we should explore this factor. Theres a whole slew of us late gen-xrs who are rapidly approaching middle age, reared in a relatively socially liberal, economic conservative way. We watch the Simpsons and South Park. We can't afford to buy homes, even if we have jobs. Our economic world view is coming apart: we work hard, and save, and can't get ahead.

There's a couple of thoughts I think we should explore:

Progressives want Universal HealtCare. Some of us fear the idea of a government monopoly on providing it. Single Payer isn't the only way to go. We could steal the Swiss system and have a market based universal healthcare system here in 3 years or less.

Progressives want a secure social safety net. Some of us dislike the economics of a payroll tax. (We should all fear the effect of so many mice getting crumbs, and liking it, while the cat's feast at the table) We, the people, should claim what is rightfully ours, by almost any definition, and require full payments for the rights our federal government grants - to be paid to us as social security benefits.
