HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. - A mother was charged with fatally stabbing her 9-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter more than 200 times each inside their suburban Chicago home.

Tonya Vasilev, 34 — a heavy bandage covering her left wrist — appeared in court Friday afternoon and answered the judge's questions in a soft, shaking voice. The judge appointed a public defender to represent her and ordered her held without bail.

2. This Was Literally In My Backyard

The other morning we saw a news helicopter hovering over the neighborhood...I knew something bad was up. Sadly, our area suffers a murder like this every year or so...and most are from lower income, immigrant families. When the promises of the "land of gold" turns to a nightmare, strange things happen.

The one thread that has a lot of us talking is not just the religious nature of this story, but how it ties into the nearby Schaumburg Christian School. This "school" was in the news recently for expelling a student when his mother didn't discipline him to their satisfaction. We've always called the place "the coven", but its members and the church itself seem to be getting into the news a lot lately.

This is a real sad story for all involved, and reminds me of the man who went on a shooting spree in a Milwaukee church. It was overshadowed by the Atlanta judge shooting and subsequent media circus, but an omninous sign of the times.

The second she was found, I knew the abduction story was fake. The baby thrown from the car, the finger in the chili, the money found in a wooden box in the ground. the WMD, the "bankrupt" SS, Just how gullible are these morons!!!!!
