Gosh, your country is at war isn't it. There might be a story to find somewhere about that. Oh, and isn't there something new happening with the 'torture chick.'

But war is kind of downer, who wants that on the weekend. Maybe another human interest story. How about health care (or lack thereof). I'm sure there are many sad stories to be found there. Of course shedding light on a true tragedy that effects millions of people might actually require some research and reporting.

4. I just sent an email to CNN

Dear CNN,

Why oh why are you providing endless coverage of a woman who got cold feet before her wedding? Does this story REALLY deserve hours of discussion? I maintain that it does not, and frankly I am disgusted that your once-great news channel is devoting so much time to this non-story.

As of today I am blocking CNN from my cable lineup. I'm pretty sure there are other far more important stories going on in the world right now, but I guess I will have to go to the Internet to find out what they are. I've simply had enough of your so-called "news". Whoever is in charge of choosing these stories should be fired. It's a disgrace.

10. Somehow I became a "Nielsen Family" for a month.

I tried to talk the woman out of it but she insisted on sending me a booklet. (I marched to my PC after that call and filled in the "do not call" form again just for good measure.)
They're supposed to be sending the booklet next week.
I'll gladly return the booklet chock full of "Daily Show" and "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" viewings. The rest of the booklet will be disappointingly blank.
