Raw Story: Congressman rebukes Bush, dubs Cheney 'ass kisser'
Edited on Fri Apr-29-05 10:04 AM by rawstory
WOW. That's all I can say. Great interview we're posting in like 15 minutes.

Teaser only for DU: “The only actual news that he reads is the sports section. All the national news, all the opinions that he gets have been filtered, and it goes to his daily breifing that has aleady been prescreened to give him what he wants to read. He doesn’t read any books, and he doesn’t talk with people that don’t already agree with him. He’s surrounded himself with ideological sycophants. And the biggest ass-kisser of all is Dick Cheney.”

4. That explains everything, doesn't it?
The man must be a darling to Republicans because he is an image of them. He's part of their insular, gated-minded community.

12. I think that's been one of the left's biggest assumptions
* may not be an eloquent speaker but he exerts influence over those under him.

14. Look at it this way
Edited on Fri Apr-29-05 12:11 PM by JohnyCanuck
I could see how Cheney kisses Bush ass to make Dubya think he is the one in charge, knowing Bush is such a dim bulb he can manipulate the Shrub into doing whatever he (Cheney) wants him to do anyway.

You'll have a hard time convincing me Cheney is not the one calling the shots. Remember who took charge on 9/11 while Dubya was frantically flying hither and yon phoning home to Uncle Dick from AF1 to find out what he should do next.

5. Thanks Raw Story! Great work.
I go to DU and Raw Story for my latest breaking news.

It is so awful that the president is an anti-intellectual moran.
Unfortunately, many * voters are also anti-intellectual morans so the fact that he doesn't read books or the news doesn't matter to them.

7. Ugh...I just watched an hour ago as Shrub and his entourage...
drove down Route 50 after his little pep rally. Kee-rist, he travels with an ambulance! Helicopters were buzzing overhead. Most of my coworkers are on my side, but the token R told us to leave the country if we don't like him and started chanting "GOP! GOP!". How predictable.

Thank you Moran, for saving Belle Haven Marina and dissing Dumbya!

10. This paragraph says it ALL about how the GOP thinks
"I think the Republicans basically resent the poor and they figure if we can get the poor investing in the stock market, maybe they’ll start thinking like Republicans," Moran said. "God help us."

Two thumbs WAY up!

15. And Rush Limbaugh's show just PROVED IT!!!
I was going to lunch just now and listening to Rush.

A caller was on the air and said something along the lines of (and I'm paraphrasing):

I'm tired of giving and giving to the poor. Why don't the poor get off their butts and get a job?"

Rush said that was a rough way to say it but then he added:

"I'd like to hear that in a Presidential press conference one day."

13. Did you hear David Frum last night: We give him the answers & he memorizes
them. He was basically saying that they came up with the ideas and that he just repeats them. This wasn't in the Hardball transcript from last night though.

Not that this isn't something that WE don't already know - but it was funny to hear Frum say it.

Maybe next year the Repubs can just run a parrot.
