Henry Kissinger and war crimes
I have a question for you all. I was doing some reading for my international relation class and one of the articles I have to read is by Henry Kissinger on why the international court and other organizations is a bad idea, entitled, "The pitfalls of Universal jurisdiction". For some reason he doesn't seem reliable, due to the fact I vaguely remember him having to do with some time of war crimes himself. that is way he seems unreliable it seems self serving for him. I did a goggle search on him and war crimes and they do seem to be connected Am I right about this? Thank you for reading this.

1. A big Welcome to DU!!!
Here you go:
http://www.zpub.com/un/wanted-hkiss.html
or check out the book by Christopher Hitchens
http://www.versobooks.com/books/ghij/h-titles/hitchens_kissinger.shtml

I'd get the television feature based on the Hitchens book. It will rock your world. This is the case of saying that "The Emperor has No Clothes."

Welcome abord!

2. OMG, yes! He thinks the ICC is a bad idea because he is afraid
of being prosecuted himself. I don't have time to get into all the long details (and there are PLENTY!), but keep doing your research and you will find that Kissinger is among the worst of the worst. He should be in prison for war crimes and committing treason against his own country.

3. thank you
for clearing things up. His article made me angry especially when he said Pinochet was only being prosecuted because it was supposedly "fashionable" Kissinger totally glosses over the fact that Pinochet was a really bad guy who was responsible for killing large amounts of people, I don't know much, but I do know that. I was really angry, because it seemed like a defense, albeit an implicit one, of a man who had clearly done some terrible things. Thanks again, I'm going to talk to my TA about this during my IR discussion section.

4. Export the War Criminal Scum
Kissinger and Bush would be the main Americans the international court would want to try for Crimes against Humanity. What a coincidence that they are the two biggest opponents also ;)

7. Here is thread I started on him a while back
His name just keeps on popping up in all kinds of places that's why started this one. A few good links there. I am also sure there is a ton of other threads on that devil in carnate. That amount of things that guy had (and sometimes has) his fingers into is bad, that dude is pure evil if you ask me.

Is Henry Kissinger a war criminal, fascist or just misunderstood

6. Here's a link to a Salon.com article from early 2001. . .
Wanted
If Henry Kissinger isn't guilty of war crimes, no one is.

By Fred Branfman

It's a nice primer to the life and crimes of Dick Nixon's prime henchman. Short but succinct. Good luck with your class.
