:evilfrown:

Helping the poor seems to be pretty unpopular with his base.

4. It's not complex
he tells them how to think and they comply. If he says make government smaller they cheer and applaud, if he says make government larger they cheer and applaud.

2. What about the faith-based initiatives, I live in a part of the country
where that's big and they all voted for the idiot! Or do you mean strictly SS

7. SSI
I just read a headline that he said he wants to give the poor more money from SSI.

I know his "Christian" base loves the faith-based initiative but pardon me for being skeptical about their motives. I hate to say it but it seems to me that the reason they hate any "government help" for the poor is that it would take "business" away from them. They'd love to see all the poor people HAVE to depend on the church for help. More souls to save.

3. He wants to help them into Happy Jesus Forced Work Camps.
That's just fine with the base. In fact, I hate to break it to them, but most of that "base" will be there right along with the "welfare queens".

5. Rich man and the eye of the needle.
"F%#@ the eye of the needle, I'll use that needle to poke out the eyes of the poor man and take his cup of change. Add it to my war chest."

6. I snickered at that line, "Why should only rich people have investments?"
Why? Maybe because the rich and the more rich are his base. At least, that's what I thought I heard someone say once.

If I was convinced that he'd had a change of heart, it wouldn't have been so funny. But that was easily the funniest thing I heard.

8. Because the poor have nothing left over to invest
and if by some miracle they do have some left over, they cannot risk losing it.

The "ownership" crap is really getting on my nerves. The ownership class telling everyone they can become owners too.

"If YOU just work a little harder, put off that raise, be more productive, then someday...this could all be MINE"

10. I was reading an interesting article today ..
apparently, among certain conservative Christians, 'the poor' refers to those who have not been 'born again.'

Which 'poor' did he refer to?

12. How can we help the poor if we don't create a lot of them first? This is
what my Supply Side Steroid Economics is designed to do. We have to create a large supply of poor people and then trickle some wars and taxes on them. The taxes will get them now;the wars will get their children. Am I brilliant or what? Professor Tsurumi at Harvard thinks I am stupid.I will teach him.

19. No way.Professor Tsurumi had this spoiled rich boy pegged a
quarter century ago.He has written how Bush bragged to him about having chains pulled to avoid going to Vietnam. I wish the networks would have him on their programs. We will know what is the truth about this man from a person who really knows. He also told the Professor that the poor are poor because they are lazy.

16. He's lying his cotton pickers off.
Just get the man completely thrown out, he has always lied about what he wants to accomplish. Basically the "poor and homeless" ruse is just to try to spur poll numbers. Nothing more and nothing less.

17. It probably will, but it shouldn't
There are over a hundred bible verses that say to help the poor:

http://home.snu.edu/~hculbert/poor.htm

Yet all those fools can focus on are the six clobber verses that allegedly say that gays should be killed and thrown into the hellfires.
