TN getting drugs from Canada

Snip: <Nashville – The Senate Commerce Committee today unanimously passed legislation sponsored by Senator Doug Jackson (D-Dickson) that will require the Commissioner of Finance and Administration to develop a plan that would allow Tennessee residents to import prescription drugs from Canada and other international markets.

“Tennesseans stand to save millions of dollars if we import prescription drugs from Canada,” Jackson said. “A survey I conducted of the most popular patented prescription drugs shows that in almost every case, consumers would realize a savings of 50 percent or more if the same drugs were purchased from Canada or abroad.”

1. Perhaps instead of importing drugs from Canada...

the U.S. should adopt a prescription drug policy that mirrors that of Canada to keep the prices down. Is relying on importing drugs from a nation with a tenth of the population really a sustainable policy? And isn't it pretty dumb when most of the imported drugs came from the U.S. in the first place?
