Was the new pope in the Waffen SS "Hitlerjugend"?

I have seen comments that the hitler Youth was like the boy Scouts, but that is not the full story. There was a SS division of the same name that fought for the first time in Normandy, and they were quite fanatical. Did he serve with this division?

I said that it served for the first time in Normandy...they eventually served elsewhere too. They may have served near Munich as well.
