Wish we could have a 'hot topic of day' grouping..all threads grouped
Edited on Tue Apr-19-05 02:38 PM by lostnfound
in a kind of temporary forum.

I've wished for it before. The Schiavo case. The early days of Gannon. Now, the Pope. There's been others. When there's so many threads devoted to one topic, it detracts from the forum. I think it would be a big improvement if it were possible to have them grouped together in their own folder.

I guess it would take some extra technology to do so.

On edit: Lest anyone think I'm complaining without helping, I personally would be happy to contribute to such an advancement. Is it possible? Desirable?

1. I think we should race 'em
You know, the Schiavo threads vs. the Pope threads. Who gets to 100,000 fastest!

3. Basically, the issue is starting new threads.
There is plenty of room for having one's say in the existing threads (as always). But replying to an existing thread is not quite as attention grabbing as starting a new one. So, well -- you know.

These things rage for a time, then a counterwave moves in -- and/or people get distracted, jaded, etc.

And then there are all those trolls. But on the other hand, you can sometimes snipe a few when the action is hot.

Besides, the zoo is always more entertaining when the inhabitants run wild. You just have to put aside notions of personal/group well-being, concern about the harm being done, etc.
