Nor should we consider, I guess, his statement that the previous pope was wrong to try and get the leaders of other faiths to sign a peace accord because other religions don't count or the fact that he did nothing, though placed in charge of the situation, about pedophile priests. And let's just skip over his ties to the very conservative Opus Die, which counts Santorum, Scalia and Novak as members.

7. Actually, those would be refreshing points to debate.

I have no problem discussing the merits of how Ratzinger has performed in past church roles or of past opinions he may have made public.

I DO object to this broad painting him as a Nazi for things that happened when he was a child.

And I DO object to those who call him fascist simply because he doesn't agree with them on policy.

It IS possible to completely disagree with someone and still be respectful.
