Ted Nugent is a classic example of whats wrong with this country
What a fucking prick this guy is. These are the type of people taking over this country. Saturday at an NRA rally he made the following comments:

"Let's next year sit here and say, 'Holy smokes, the NRA has 40 million members now,'" he said. "No one is allowed at our barbecues unless they are an NRA member. Do that in your life."

"Remember the Alamo! Shoot 'em!" he screamed to applause. "To show you how radical I am, I want carjackers dead. I want rapists dead. I want burglars dead. I want child molesters dead. I want the bad guys dead. No court case. No parole. No early release. I want 'em dead. Get a gun and when they attack you, shoot 'em."

7. No, Ted is very preachy about his anti-drug stance.
He just smoked a lot of stupid sticks--- along with a heaping helping of ugly ones.

3. If he wants child molesters dead,
he needs to put a gun to his own head.

It's a well known fact that many of the groupies that The Nuge slept with back in the day were WELL under the legal age of consent.

He is a hypocritical sack of red-neck shit.

18. His daughters were on a show about rock star kids
They were appalled when he brought home a girl who was so young that she was in the driveway playing basketball with their 11 or 12 year old brother. Kid games. The daughters seemed surprisingly normal and they lowered the boom on their dad.

His response was, "What can I say? I'm a breeder." He's scum.

A sick, sexual deviant who should be in jail.

5. Some people gotta get high, some people gotta start low...
some people say you're gonna die some day.. I got news, ya never got ta go..."

- ted nugent lyric (of a truly great guitar jam)

Ted Nugent's greatest work is long in the past... sadly, some people
need drugs to do their best work. Although, in all honesty, it
sounds like he's just an addictive compulsive maniac who is not
recieving treatment.

8. Feh. When I think great guitar I think of names like Hendrix and Garcia.
Maybe Anastasio.

When I think "talentless 80 i.q. nimrod in a loincloth with raw possum hanging out of his mouth", I think Ted Nugent.

9. indeed
But i still jam to that song, tommy bolan, van halen and aerosmith...
or their modern day evolutions like joe satriani... (love joe!)

That said, i like their finger board work and really don't want to
hear them talk at all, let alone hear about their politics.

:-) "80's nimrod in a loincloth" :-) ha! ha!

22. Yeah, it was actually "80 IQ nimrod", but 80's works just as well.
I just never got as into that style of guitar, or music. I respect the talent, but I don't dig the sound. I never particularly cared for any of the different permutations of metal, although some early Van Halen is decent. Early Aerosmith, too- there are some great songs, although watching the current behavior of the corporation known as Aerosmith (tm) doesn't seem like it can get any more silly or tedious. Maybe Steven Tyler is trying to make selling out into some kind of over-the-top performance piece.

Give me the bright primary colors of a sweet Jerry solo (Stella Blue, anyone?), or even the deliberate understatement of the work of someone like Peter Buck, any day. Just my personal opinion, of course!
:)

11. The drugs war has made a joke out of the criminal system
Everyone knows pot smokers are not a danger, and that they are put in
with the rest of the violent criminals, makes a travesty of the law,
as it no longer warrants respect, as well with law officers who are
"the enemy" in a society of drugs users.

I'd wager that if we ended the drugs prohibition and got back to calling
only "crime" crime, then this nugent extremism would not have such
fertile soil.

12. Welcome to DU JimmyJo
I disagree with your viewpoint though. A civilized society cannot allow vigilantism to exist at the wholesale level. If you think the court system is corrupt, wait till you experience the back woods justice meted out by a lynch mob.

Many folks were wrongly accused and murdered by these groups which, in many cases, had hidden agenda's

More "witches" were murdered in Salem for economic reasons than religious ones for example.

21. Following your logic...
...OBL was right in attacking the US. Do you see the circle you are running in?

The law clearly states you have every right to protect yourself during a home invasion. No question there.

What Nugent is proposing , and you seem to support, is going beyond the law and bypassing the established justice system. Which is what the * administration is doing on a worldwide basis, eh?.

19. I'm sure the mothers of many of the underaged girls he's had
in the course of his life would agree with him on: " I want child molesters dead."

Just a long as he's at the head of that line.

I work at a hunting and fishing magazine publishing company. All the editors are hunters and Nugent is a good friend of one of them. And of course, the majority of the editors are Repugs.

We ran an article by him in one of the magazines a few years back.
