Odds improve for Parisian, Cardinal Lustiger....

Last night I went WAAAAAYYY out on a limb and said I expected Cardinal Lustiger to be the next pope. He was born Jewish, lost his parents in WWII in death camps, and taught at the Sorbonne for many years.

He was 1-20 on PaddyPower yesterday. Today, he's 1-5.

And, I am not being facetious or condescending. I really want to know because I have no knowledge about these Cardinals, but am hopeful that if the RC can begin to emulate the historical Jesus that it might just become an effective vessel for improving the plight of humanity.

I doubt any cardinal, even a French-Jew is going to take many bold, progressive stands, however Cardinal Lustiger is generally regarded as on the more open-minded candidates...
