Rove: White House 'strongly' behind DeLay
I thought KKKarl might be smarter than this. Could get interesting.

~snip~ WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The White House stands "strongly" behind Tom DeLay amid ethical questions over the House majority leader's fund- raising and overseas trips, deputy chief of staff Karl Rove said Monday.~snip~

5. "white house strongly supports . . . . ."
isn't that usually the prelude to a resignation? :bounce:

or . . um . . promotion? :puke:

9. Yeah remember Bernie??
"Bernie Kerik is one of the most accomplished and effective leaders of law enforcement in America. In his career, he has served as an enlisted military police officer in Korea, a jail warden in New Jersey, a beat cop in Manhattan, New York City corrections commissioner, and as New York's 40th police commissioner -- an office once held by Teddy Roosevelt. In every position, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to justice, a heart for the innocent, and a record of great success.

I'm grateful he's agreed to bring his lifetime of security experience and skill to one of the most important positions in the federal government. Bernie is a dedicated, innovative reformer who insists on getting results. As the head of New York City jails, he cut inmate violence by more than 90 percent. As Mayor Rudy Giuliani's police commissioner, he had great success in reducing crime in New York City. His broad, practical, hands-on experience makes Bernie superbly qualified to lead the Department of Homeland Security."

10. With Kerik
I think that was just a little payback to Guliani so they don't have to worry about him anymore and then they let all this information about him come out. Other wise these people are very secretive and don't let anything get out unless for a reason. So either DeLay has something on them or they have something on him and are preparing to use that something. Either way I'm enjoying the show.

6. Delay is toast now.
Rove telling you that he supports you is the same as having a knife stuck in your bath.

7. That sounds like the kiss of death (for his Congressional career)
They'll let him resign with "honor", and then get him some cushy job overseas or get him on some too well paid corporate board.

8. I* don't think Delay is toast
I think the millions collected for his defense will keep him in. And....I also think that the Republicans speaking against him will fall in line. there will be no ethics committee and they will eliminate the filibuster.

I respect Reid and think he is doing a good job but i don't think this bunch can be stopped. They are vicious and dangerous and will do anything to keep DeLay in.

I wish I could think about it differently but the odds are not good.
