Paid almost $50 for a fill-up today... god it felt good.....
Thats right, given current prices, I expect to be paying well over $200/mo just to get to and from my job. Sure I hate the prices and wince when I think what they are doing to average working folk.

But on the other hand, I got to listen to a really large, fat, white, Texas, republican bitch today at the pump about gas prices. Lucky for me he didn't notice the DU sticker on my truck. He quipped.... I can't believe we "Americans" are getting it given to us like this. after all we have been through....

I smiled and said " Yeah you are right, those corporations and this government only care about themselves...."

He looked puzzled for a moment than then nodded....

So, while I hate to see hard working play by the rules folks suffering... trust me when I tell you that the higher this thing goes, the better it will be for initiatives like a change in leadership and real exploration of alternative fuels.

Now is not the time to "conserve" now is the time to use like hell and drive the price through the roof.. (if you can afford it...think of it as a political contribution) *KWIM ?

1. But they will STILL vote Republican!

They don't make the connection, in my experience. They'll be in favor of exploring the alternative fuels in Alaska, and that's about it. Maybe look to pressing Iraq for their oil since we 'liberated' them, but these aren't far thinking folks.

And it bothers me that I've not heard one prominent Democrat make that connection for them.

My dems no longer have the balls to stand up and the repugs just aren't all that bright to start with. Kind of like a dog that poops where he eats....

Again I say... consume, consume, consume.... our system of supply, demand, and finance is on the brink.... lets help push it over the edge and let the chips fall where they may...

10. I just stay home
thankfully I don't work anymore, a tank of gas will last me 3 weeks unless I visit my daughter in Tempe. I had a dream, when I retired I would go many places. Thank you mr. shrub for encouraging me to be an introvert.

"I can't believe we "Americans" are getting it given to us like this. after all we have been through...."

5. Does this morAn realize Americans pay less for gas
Than most of the developed world? In Europe they're up to like $4/gal or something like that.

7. It Means nothing
It means nothing if there is no fair election or fairness in the media.

8. GOP has missed many opportunities in the past 5 years.
Remember how they hauled out a tiny purple car to defeat higher fuel efficiency standards for vehichles? They've been cutting research at the energy department. They instituted huge tax breaks for SUV purchases.

If it lasts much longer, people will decide that the GOP doesn't have a solution.

11. And they will continue to miss them.... why ?
Because they are not forward thinkers. They are invested to the gills in the status-quo because that is what "their" financial advisers told them to do. These are the same "financial" advisers that only 10 years ago said that "internet commerce" was not ever going to be profitable.. Hummm... guess they kind of missed that mark eh ?

So, no I am sure they believe that gas prices will drop and there is no need to "change course" at this point. Unfortunately, with the exception of those actually invested in the oil futures, the rest of the repug investors will take it on the nose in terms of transportation cost for goods sold and other OPEX cost as a result of higher fuel prices...

Oh but then I guess they will blame Clinton or some Librul Judge....

Sorry my bad for being logical...
