Who cares about the smoke. What will the smoke reveal?
Someone conservative in philosophy?

Someone open-minded in philosophy?

A pro-** armageddonist lunatic assisting in the demise of the world?

And what did Nostradamus and other ye olde tyme conjurers believe the Final pope to be?

3. All the smoke will tell us is that a selection is made
Then, the guy selected/accepted will put on the outfit and go to the window. Then, the talking heads will start gabbing, speculating, deciding.

Hey, no one thought JP1 would be anything other than a placeholder. When he started talking about women's rights and further modernization, they freaked out. Poor guy lasted only 33 days (now how old was Christ when he died????)....

4. the smoke will reveal what the cardinals are smoking
but their choice will be a far right-wing extremist and probably one willing to continue tolerating pedophilia among the priesthood

8. OMG! You guys are funny. Yellow smoke. Hehehe
Green smoke means it was pot. Hope it was good.

Just kidding. I"m Catholic. The smoke is just an old tradition used to alert the people nearby a new pope was selected. This was prior to our current communications methods. THe Cardinals plan to utilize the Internet(s) and phones, etc. and talk to the bobble head media whores and all that jazz, but like good Catholics, they also still perform the old traditions. As a Catholic, even as muchas I disagree with JPII, I still love the old traditions... just not the archaic way of treating human beings.
