And most likely Bush again in 2004. As a previous poster mentioned, it's Mark (Screech) Kennedy's district, who is total scum as demonstrated by his slimy campaign against his challenger, Patty Wetterling. There is no local television news, and the paper is a little bit conservative...like the Washington Times. (But you can get the Star Tribune from the Twin Cities easily.)
As that same poster (who is now no longer with us) mentioned, you probably cannot get Air America on the radio, as it's too far away and the signal isn't strong enough. However, St. Cloud boasts two competing cable companies throughout the entire area, so cable rates are relatively low (as low as cable rates go).
On the upside, every first week in February the college radio station (KVSC) has a 50-hour trivia marathon that is loads of fun. There's several summer festivals that are quite enjoyable (the Wings, Wheels, and Water festival is loads of fun) and the Twin Cities are only an hour away down I-94.
I lived there for 12 years, and although I rented for all of those years, housing is okay. The city, and the surrounding towns total around 100,000 people, and for nine months out of the year, there's an upswing of 16,000 college students for St. Cloud State University. (Which has a very cool library.)
Be advised that St. Cloud is technically in Northern Minnesota and gets cold, so very, very cold in the winter. There's uaually a week or two in late January or February where the temp won't get above single digits, so heating costs may be a concern.
It's not a bad place to live, actually, but I got a job in St. Paul, so I left. Good luck! :hi:
